These inspiring young Australians showcase music, politics, careers, history, medicine, language, and stories as part of their contemporary lifestyles. Their unique journeys span Indigenous cultures across the country, from the bustling streets of Sydney to the aquamarine vistas of the Torres Strait.

A six-part documentary series, exploring the revival, maintenance, and creation of indigenous languages in Australia. Talking Language with Ernie Dingo is a personal journey providing a unique understanding of how knowledge of Aboriginal languages is shaped by ancestral connections to the land, stars, water, sea, and the air we breathe.

Ernie Dingo visits six people from across Australia whose stories of a spiritual connection to the country highlight some of the benefits and current challenges people face to maintain, revive and create languages within their communities. Throughout his journey, Ernie explores the complex and delicate balance between language, stories, and relationship to country. Importantly, he discovers how these relationships have been impacted and influenced by different types of relationships with the country: western culture, colonial history, and development. This relationship excludes the knowledge of the sacred law and custom of the land that nourishes and maintains Aboriginal languages.

The documentary series premiered on NITV and SBS Australia and was nominated as the finalist for the Promotion of Positive Images of the Older Person Awards in the Special Categories section in the 2014 United Nations Association of Australia's Media Awards. The national awards programs aim to recognise Australian environmental achievement, social justice, and media excellence.
