SHORT BIO
Ernest Hariyanto is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, producer, writer, and editor. He is known for the award-winning documentary feature Streetside (2013), the internationally acclaimed film Laya Project (2007), and most recently, the avant-garde Australian documentary You Should Have Been Here Yesterday (2023).

FULL BIO
Ernest Hariyanto co-produced, wrote and edited Jalanan (Streetside, 2013), a feature-length documentary that won Best Documentary at the Busan International Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Melbourne International Film Festival.

His credits include the internationally acclaimed feature documentaries Laya Project (2007), Warsaw International Film Festival’s Best Documentary Nominee Plastic Island (2021) and the avant-garde Australian surf documentary You Should Have Been Here Yesterday (2023). Ernest is an Australia Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) accredited writer/editor and a member of the Australian Screen Editor Guild (ASE).
